GO Wellington has been participating in negotiations to enter into a Collective Employment Agreement (CEA) with the Tramways and M&C unions. Last week, the company and the unions reached an agreement on a proposal which was ratified by their members at a stop work meeting today.

GO Wellington and the Tramways and the Manufacturing and Construction Workers unions reached an agreement on a proposal for a Collective Employment Agreement (CEA) at mediation on Thursday, 2 October.

Statement
In recent months, GO Wellington and the Tramways and M&C unions have been participating in negotiations to enter into a Collective Employment Agreement (CEA). Discussions have been undertaken over four months since negotiations were initiated on 2 July.
The unions and GO Wellington today reached agreement on a proposed CEA.

GO Wellington bus services have been restored to normal today, Friday, 26 September after the Tramways and M&C unions agreed to withdraw their notice of strike action and to return to the negotiating table. Further mediation is scheduled for next week.

The Tramways Union advised GO Wellington on Monday, 22 September that it intended to take industrial strike action during the peak morning commuter period, between the hours of 7.30am to 8.30am, starting Wednesday, 24 September and continuing until further notice.

Industrial action by the Tramways Union on Wednesday, 24 September will affect school bus services to the following schools.
The services are affected by industrial action affecting all GO Wellington bus services scheduled to depart between 7.30am and 8.30am from the Karori Terminus and the Wellington Railway Station.

There will be no GO Wellington bus services leaving from the Wellington Rail Station or from Karori Terminus between the hours of 7.30am and 8.30am on Wednesday, 24 September. This includes 23 school buses.
The Tramways Union has advised GO Wellington that it intends to take strike action during this peak commuter period, and that this will continue until further notice.

On Monday, 22 September, the Wellington Tramways Union will conduct a stop work meeting between the hours of 10.30am and 2pm to ratify a new Collective Employment Agreement.
As a result, all GO Wellington services will be unavailable on Monday, 22 September between the hours of 10am and 2pm.
