GO Wellington has introduced two new permanent routes to its service in time for the peak Christmas shopping period.
The two new routes, routes 48 and 49, will run from Karori Park to Queensgate via Johnsonville and from Wellington Zoo to Queensgate via Wellington’s CBD, respectively.
“Our customers have told us that they want to be able to catch a bus to visit shopping malls,” says Zane Fulljames, General Manager, Southern Region, NZ Bus. “So, we thought what better time to introduce a shopping service than during the busy Xmas shopping period. And of course, our senior citizens with SuperGold cards can go for free.”
“Both services have major shopping destinations between their start and finish. Route 48 has the Karori Mall, the Johnsonville Mall and the Westfield Mall at Queensgate. Route 49 runs past Lambton Quay before heading out to Queensgate,” says Mr Fulljames.
“We are constantly monitoring our services for ways that we can enhance them and add value for our customers. These two new services are examples of this.”

· Route 48 operates off-peak, between 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
