On Monday, 22 September, the Wellington Tramways Union will conduct a stop work meeting between the hours of 10.30am and 2pm to ratify a new Collective Employment Agreement.
As a result, all GO Wellington services will be unavailable on Monday, 22 September between the hours of 10am and 2pm.
Services will be distrupted prior to the meeting, from 9am until 10am, and again following it, from 2pm until 4pm.
Full services on all GO Wellington routes will operate until 9am and will resume from 4pm.
School buses may be affected. Any enquiries should be directed to Metlink on 0800 801 700. We will be working hard to ensure that the effect on school bus services is minimal.
"The disruption to services is to allow our people who are represented by the Wellington Tramways Union to attend a union meeting," says Bruce Kenyon, General Manager GO Wellington. "The meeting will provide an opportunity for union members to discuss our offer of a 7 per cent pay increase in the first year and a $250 gross cash payment.
"This offer is well above the cost of living, which is sitting at 4 per cent, and well above settlements reached by other industries undertaking collective employment agreement negotiations in New Zealand today.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this causes our customers," syas Mr Kenyon. "With advance notice we hope our customers will be able to plan their day's activities with minimal disruption."
Valley Flyer, Runcimans, Newlands Coach Services, Mana Coach Services, Tranz Metro and Wellington Cable Car services are unaffected and will continue to operate as normal.
